Good to know

Questions people ask us.

What is Commute+, in plain words?
It's your ride to work, booked the night before. You tell us your days and times once a month, and we lock in a driver and a price for every ride. The 7:40 scramble, staring at “finding your driver” while the fare climbs, is the part we removed. You walk out, the car's booked, and the price was settled last night.
How do I know the price is fair?
Because we show you the whole sum. Flag-down $2.70, distance at $1.26 a kilometre, your class on that ride part, the Route rate (the road charges on your actual route, worked out the night before), and one platform fee of $1.80. That's the entire fare, and the calculator on this site runs the exact same numbers we use. If your price ever changes, it's because your route or plan changed, never because it rained.
What's the 9pm lock?
At 9pm the night before, the next day's rides are locked. Your driver gets a confirmed list of pickups and you get a confirmed time. That lock is the reason we can promise the car will be there: after 9pm, nothing about tomorrow morning is left to chance. It also means changes after 9pm can't be worked in, which is where empathy credits come in.
What if I fall sick or plans change?
Cancel that leg by 9pm the night before and an empathy credit covers it: the value comes back as a discount on next month's pass, so you don't lose the money. After 9pm the roster is locked and the leg is forfeited, because your driver has already planned the ride around you. We'd rather say that plainly here than hide it in fine print.
My driver can't make it. What happens to me?
That's our problem to fix, not yours. If a driver can't make a booked ride, you book your own standard-class replacement on any app, upload the receipt, and we reimburse the fare in full. You are never out of pocket, and never left without a ride.
Who else will be in the car?
On Share, at most one other passenger going the same direction, picked up on a small detour of about 10 minutes at most. A pool is never more than 2 passengers. If you'd rather be picked up last and dropped first, Share+ adds 15% to the ride part of your fare. If you want the whole car, Direct adds 30% to the ride part and carries your route's road charges in full, since there's no one to share them with.
Do you run weekends or public holidays?
Yes. Commute+ runs every day, weekends and public holidays included. You book the days you actually travel, whatever your roster looks like. On weekends and public holidays the Route rate is usually zero, so those rides often cost a little less.
How many days a month do I need?
A monthly pass needs at least 12 travel days in the month. At the soft launch the monthly pass is the only plan, so below 12 days we would rather tell you honestly than sell you a pass you don't need. Pay-per-trip arrives at the full launch. You can join the waitlist either way.
Is it really no surge, ever?
Yes. Your fare is set when the ride is booked, and it stays put when it rains, at the 6pm crush, and when the MRT goes down again. Surge exists because on-demand apps price each ride in the moment it's requested. We price the month up front, so there's nothing left to surge.
What do you do with my details?
We collect your name, contact, home and work addresses, and your schedule, and we use them only to match your rides and reach you before launch. That's the PDPA consent you tick when you join. We don't ask for your NRIC, we never sell your data, and you can ask us to delete everything at any time.
Can I book just one way?
Yes. It's one monthly plan, and you choose your legs day by day. You can book just your morning, or just your evening, or both, and mix it however your week runs. You only pay for the legs you book, so a mornings-only week costs less than travelling both ways. You set your pattern when you pick your days, and you can change it each month.
What's the deal, in one line?
Founding drivers get our best rate, locked for the pilot. The rides are booked before your block starts, and you're paid twice a month on fixed dates. There's no surge to chase, because there's no surge at all.
How is this different from driving for the apps?
On the apps you start the day at zero and hunt for it, ping by ping, burning petrol between jobs. Here your block is filled the night before: you see the pickups and the pay before you start the car. And because rides are pooled, one run can carry two paying fares on the same road.
What do I need to sign up today?
Just this form: your name and contact, whether you hold a PDVL and Z10/Z11 insurance, and when you could drive. No documents, no payment, no commitment. It's a waitlist, and we'll contact you before the soft launch opens.
What documents will I need later, at onboarding?
When onboarding opens in the driver app, you'll upload your NRIC (front and back) with a selfie holding it, your Class 3/3A driving licence, your PDVL, the vehicle log card showing Z10 or Z11, your commercial insurance certificate, and your bank details for payouts. If the car is rented, the rental agreement too. Keep them handy and onboarding takes minutes, not days.
How do the blocks work?
A block is a 4-hour driving window. A runs 05:30 to 09:30, B runs 09:30 to 13:30, C runs 13:30 to 17:30, and D runs 17:30 to 21:30. You choose the blocks that fit your life and we fill them with booked rides. Outside your blocks the time is yours, and you can mark protected windows we'll never schedule over, like the school pickup.
How does availability work?
You confirm a rolling 2 weeks at a time, not a whole month. Each fortnight you confirm the next one, so we always know your cover and you're never locked in far ahead. Every day counts, weekends and public holidays included.
What if I can't make a booked ride?
Tap “Unable to fulfil” in the app, as early as you can. The passenger books their own replacement ride and we reimburse them in full, so nobody's left at the kerb — and early honest notice is always treated better than a silent no-show. On-time is judged from your car's location, never from whether you remembered to tap a button. If a suspension is ever on the table, a human reviews it first, every time.
How does pooling work on my side?
At most 2 passengers per pool, matched the night before on your corridor, with a small detour already built into the route. You're not weaving across the island collecting strangers. The plan is set before you start, and both fares on that run are yours to earn.
When exactly do I get paid?
Twice a month, on fixed dates, mid-month and month-end, straight to the bank account you register at onboarding. No cash changes hands in the car. Your statement lists every ride and the full breakdown, so you can check our maths yourself.
What happens to my details?
We collect your name, contact, your licence and insurance answers, and your availability, and we use them only to check you're eligible and to reach you before launch. That's the PDPA consent you tick when you sign up. You can ask us to remove everything at any time.
